Join the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration for a live event on Monday, April 7 at 12 p.m. ET as we kick off the agency’s annual Put the Phone Away or Pay high visibility enforcement campaign. This event will take place at the Department of Transportation Headquarters Plaza in Washington, D.C.
This event will include a live demonstration after the press conference for those attending in-person. A virtual reality driving simulator will be set up to illustrate the dangers of distracted driving.
Speakers will include:
- Steven G. Bradbury, Deputy Secretary, U.S. Department of Transportation;
- Peter Simshauser, Chief Counsel, NHTSA;
- Lieutenant Maurice Raines, Deputy Director of the Georgia Governor’s Office of Highway Safety; and
- Meredith Spies, impact speaker.
NHTSA’s distracted driving prevention campaign, Put the Phone Away or Pay, will begin on April 7 and run through April 14, 2025.
