Dear Mr. Gardner: This is in response to your letter of February 18, 1970, in which yo asked whether Standard 111, *Rearview Mirrors*, was based on monocular or ambinocular viewing by the driver. Please excuse the delay caused by a corresponding routing error.; Standard 111 is based on ambinocular viewing. There was no intent t change this by the use of the singular in the phrase 'driver's eye reference point,' in the interpretation of April 4, 1967.; We are pleased to be of assistance.
