Eileen Sullivan
Eileen Sullivan, NHTSA’s Associate Administrator for Enforcement, is the principal advisor to the agency’s senior leaders on matters related to enforcement actions. She leads the office that oversees industry compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards and investigates safety-related motor vehicle defects, ensuring that manufacturers conduct recalls to remove unsafe vehicles and equipment from our nation’s roads.
Before joining NHTSA, Sullivan worked for the Department of Agriculture for more than a decade, serving in various enforcement-related roles. Most recently, she directed investigative and enforcement services for the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service. In that capacity, she led a nationwide workforce and oversaw all investigative, enforcement, and regulatory support activity provided to multiple programs. Prior to her federal service, Sullivan worked as a law enforcement officer and an attorney.
Sullivan graduated from the University of Michigan and has a law degree from Wayne State University.
