Dear Mr. Achille: This is in reply to your letter of June 11, 1980, asking whether push-in type supplement engine stop switch is permissible under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 123, *Motorcycle Controls and Displays*.; Table 1 of Standard No. 123 does not specify the method of operation o the supplement engine stop control and, as you correctly guessed, your planned switch is therefore not prohibited.
